GuangZhou Menty Clothing Co.,LTD helps African children fight hunger

On March 8, 2025, International Women's Day, a warm message from Guangzhou, China, crossed mountains and seas to reach the distant continent of Africa.

GuangZhou Menty Clothing Co., LTD, with the help of Alipay's international public welfare platform, has started a journey of providing meals for hungry children in Africa, bringing them hope and strength to move forward in their difficult situations.

Ethiopia, a country located in the Horn of Africa, faces severe poverty and hunger issues. In one corner of this country, Gabe Selassie's family is a microcosm of this harsh reality.

Gabe and his two younger brothers live with their mother. His father died early, and his mother barely makes a living by working as a nanny.

The family often went hungry. In order to feed his younger brothers, Gabe Selassie had to make a difficult decision: drop out of school and work. But even so, life was still very difficult, and sometimes he was even forced to beg on the street. Such a life was undoubtedly too heavy for a child.

It was after seeing the plight of countless poor families like Gabe Selassie’s family that We hope to offer a little help.

We chose Gabe Selassie's school to donate to public primary schools in poor areas of Ethiopia to provide two meals a day.

The significance of this act of kindness goes far beyond the food itself. For Gabe Selassie and her brothers, two meals a day not only bring warmth to their stomachs, but also allow them to no longer worry about food and clothing, and have a carefree childhood. For those children who drop out of school due to hunger, this donation provides them with the possibility to return to school, giving them the opportunity to receive education and change their destiny.

We hope it can provide them with some help. The children can study at ease in school and no longer worry about the next meal.
